Not all probiotics are created equally. One of the most common complaints we hear from pet parents is that they tried a probiotic and it did not work. Most probiotics on the market (for human and pets) are highly ineffective. The best probiotics are refrigerated and contain a very high CFU (at least 52 billion per dose). These strains of "good bacteria" are very sensitive to heat and do not typically survive shelf-stable. Furthermore a large percentage of probiotics will never make it past our stomach acid, so a high dose of properly stored, strong probiotics are critical for "good bacteria" to make it all the way to the large intestine for maximum effectiveness. We could not recommend Visbiome enough!
