Tools and knowledge for informed feeding decisions

About this service

How we care

Professionally caring for hundreds of pets offers a unique bird’s-eye view that many pet owners never see when focused only on their own household. Many health struggles are not simply bad luck or heredity. It has been heartbreaking to witness how many pets pass away from cancer — the #1 cause of death for dogs, and very aggressive in cats.

Official U.S. pet cancer rates:

  • 1 in 4 dogs
  • 1 in 2 dogs over age 10
  • 1 in 5 cats

These rates are devastating. Too many pets are plagued with kidney disease and diabetes. An alarming number face gastrointestinal distress, obesity, or urinary concerns. Just like for us, nutrition is a key factor for long-term health and can be a precursor for disease. Even more concerning for our pets: the majority of commercial pet foods on the market are not human grade — meaning biologically inappropriate and poor-quality ingredients are legally allowed and often included.

Fortunately, many of these illnesses can be avoided or substantially delayed with quality nutrition. While we all wish our beloved pets could live forever, our promise to them can be a healthy, disease-free life for as many of their years as possible. Even when end-of-life care brings challenges, we can strive for a long life with fewer vet bills, fewer medications, and less suffering. Our goal with nutritional support is to give you the tools and knowledge to make informed decisions about how you feed your fur baby — navigating how nutrition affects disease, working with your vet, and understanding the pet food industry as a whole.

Common health concerns manageable with nutritional support:

  • Obesity
  • Allergies and dermatitis
  • Kidney disease
  • Urinary stones
  • Gastrointestinal distress
  • Diarrhea and vomiting
  • Diabetes
  • Cancer
  • Cardiovascular diseases
  • Liver disease
  • And more…

If you have questions about your cat or dog’s nutrition, a food choice, or a specific health concern, schedule a consultation with a certified pet nutritionist. While some industries profit from illness, we thrive when our furry clients stay healthy, happy, and live long, abundant lives.
